Membership & Diversity Committee

The Membership and Diversity Committee’s purpose is to expand membership in the Chapter, and encourage diversity in the planning profession. Recognizing the unique values, ideas and perspectives offered by a diverse workforce, the committee establishes ongoing networking and education forums to foster awareness and action towards increasing diversity within the planning profession.

The primary responsibilities of the committee include:

  • Welcome new members to APA-NC
  • Create promotional materials that encourage membership in APA-NC including those traditionally underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.
  • Raises money to support the annual Student Summer Fellowship
  • Develop other promotional programs as opportunities become available.
