The Wake County Transit Plan was adopted in 2016, and a successful referendum established a ½ -cent funding source to implement the plan. The governance agreement for the funding source established a Transit Planning Advisory Committee (TPAC) comprised of representatives from each municipality in Wake County, the County itself, and other agencies such as the Capital Area MPO, GoTriangle regional transit agency, NC State University and Research Triangle Park. he TPAC Administrator is a highly responsible position that will lead the facilitation of the implementation efforts of the Wake County Transit Plan through coordination of the TPAC. This position is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the TPAC, including organizing meetings, providing meeting minutes and summaries, developing agendas in coordination with the Chair and Vice Chair, developing presentation materials for the meetings, carrying out other duties and research as directed by the TPAC, and serving as the main point of contact for TPAC-related affairs. This position will assist with the compilation of annual Wake Transit Work Plans that detail annual investments in transit service and supporting capital improvements by coordinating with agencies and individuals responsible for various elements of the work plans, and may have responsibility for creating some parts of the annual work plan. This position will provide staff support for forwarding recommendations from the TPAC to the Capital Area MPO Executive Board and GoTriangle Board of Directors, and will represent the TPAC as a staff resource at those meetings as necessary. This position will also provide staff support to the TPAC subcommittees and working groups, and may be called upon to assist TPAC members with presentations to the public, local boards or stakeholder groups. The TPAC Administrator will also be responsible for ensuring the TPAC meetings and work products are in compliance with TPAC bylaws, policies and procedures, and making sure TPAC work is carried out in a transparent fashion. This position reports to the Wake Transit Program Manager. Salary range: $51,822.00 – $95,871.00 Annually; anticipated hiring range $51,822 – $70,000

Job Candidate Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning or engineering with an emphasis on transportation planning and management, transportation engineering or directly related field and five years of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.Preferred experience with Microsoft Office products and Adobe products and experience with staffing a board or committee.
