Classification: Part-time, Hourly
Hiring Range: $21.00 – $25.00/ hour
Benefits: Eligible for Paid Holidays and Professional Development upon successful completion of 90 probationary period.
Position will assist in the collection of data and the development of tools to promote more effective community analysis and public engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects a variety of statistical data for the preparation of reports and maps
  • Collects parcel data and searches land records to create mailing lists and databases
  • Collects and compiles land use, transportation, and community data
  • Conducts site visits to collect data for reports
  • Creates newsletter, meeting notification, and presentation materials templates using InDesign
  • Creates project shapefiles using ArcGIS
  • Creates project, report and company graphics using InDesign
  • Attends public meetings and provides information to the public and overall support during community outreach activities
  • Occasional overnight travel is required

Job Candidate Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors in Planning, geography or related field and one-year relevant working experience in data collection, and ArcGIS data management and spatial analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS

Knowledge of:

  • Principles and practices of planning, multimodal transportation and land use planning
  • Principles and practices of research and data collection
  • Effective writing techniques

Ability to:

  • Explain technical information in a clear and concise manner to the public
  • Create graphic designs using InDesign and other design software
  • Work on several projects or issues simultaneously
  • Work independently or in a team environment as needed
  • Travel across and out of state for community outreach activities and training
