JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the innovative development and management of programs and initiatives to retain and grow private investment in Historic Downtown Wilson, a dynamic community using art and technology as catalysts for community and economic development. Major focus of this position is on building reuse, property redevelopment, historic preservation, and business development that increases economic development and vitality.
MAJOR DUTIES: Works under the direction of the Downtown Development Director to support and increase private investment and business activity downtown and surrounding commercial areas. Develops and oversees downtown business development activities, projects, programs and initiatives; Develops and maintains statistics and databases to accurately track projects and programs; Promotes property redevelopment and markets properties to potential investors and businesses; Initiates and maintains regular contact with downtown property and business owners; Promotes sound use of incentives for property redevelopment and infill development, including, historic preservation tax credits and other federal state, and local incentives; Works with existing downtown businesses to help them grow their market share and presence; Works with Downtown Communications Specialist to promote and market existing businesses and available properties downtown; Works with existing and prospective property and businesses in preparing proformas, business plans, financial projections, marketing plans, succession plans, and other such efforts.
Salary Range: $45,326.97 – $72,831.38

Job Candidate Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business administration, public administration, or related field with considerable experience (3 to 5 years) working in downtown development, business development, commercial real estate development, and/or closely related field. This position requires a valid driver’s license.
