Seeking a highly qualified team player to join the Town’s Planning Department. Rolesville is one of the fastest growing towns in the state, located adjacent to Raleigh in Wake County, North Carolina. Responsibilities involve processing or making recommendation on rezoning requests, review site and subdivision plans, sign permits review, building permit applications, conduct site inspections, advise the public and developers of the Town’s Unified Development Ordinance, and enforce ordinances while supporting the efforts and objectives of the Planning Department. Additional responsibilities include preparing and designing special community projects as assigned; presenting reports to the public and boards, attending Town Board, Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Adjustment meetings, conducting quantitative and quality analysis of planning data, and conducting town policy research.

Applicant should possess strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the principles, practices, and techniques of municipal planning along with effective presentation and communication skills. Salary range is $45,921 to $67,963 based on qualifications.

Job Candidate Qualifications

Position requires a four year degree in urban and regional planning or related field and a combination of one year experience in the planning field or a master’s degree in urban and regional planning. Preference given to candidates with strong background and experience with Geographic Information Systems, CommunityViz, SketchUp and MS Office Suite software
