As a member of the Land Use Administration Team, this position provides information and assistance on zoning, the rezoning process and the idtPlans system to customers and staff. The position has a strong customer service component. The position serves as back-up to the Plan Review Coordinator and can step in and manage the intake and review process for site plans to be considered by the City-County Planning Board and elected bodies. The position also reviews minor subdivisions for compliance with UDO requirements and state statute requirements and determines if plats are ready for recordation. The person in this position prepares reports on zoning cases and text amendments for Planning Board consideration; works in a team environment with other staff, citizens and public officials on planning projects; presents reports, analyses, and recommendations to citizens and public officials; and may represent the Planning Board and the Planning and Development Services Department at selected meetings.

Salary  $40,620.00

Job Candidate Qualifications

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in planning or a related field or a bachelor’s degree with two years of planning experience. AICP certification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience in site plan review, mapping, and spatial-based applications desired; requires customer service orientation and the ability to communicate complex information to citizens, developers and real estate professionals in a concise and understandable manner. Ability to analyze and systematically compile technical and statistical information and to prepare and present reports based on that information; ability to use computers, GIS and other technology in analysis and presentation of information; ability to present oral and written information clearly and concisely; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional colleagues and representatives of other public agencies; and the ability to work independently and with minimal direction and supervision.
