The Town of Chapel Hill has created a new position for a Planning Operations Manager to help organize the workflow of the department and improve the predictability and accessibility of its internal and external systems. This person will serve as an administrative extension of the Planning and Development Services Director in managing a $2.1 million dollar budget and 22 employees. The successful candidate will direct teams and coordinate interdepartmental resources to make operational improvements, conduct high value planning assignments, and manage projects. Job Candidate Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the job.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, business, public administration, or related field. Master’s degree in planning, public administration, or landscape architecture preferred.
Experience: Five years of experience working in planning, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Licenses/Certificates: The possession of or the ability to obtain a valid NC state driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation.
