Support lead planner(s) in preparing City of Charlotte reports or documents such as the Capital Investment Program (CIP) submittals, Mid-Year Capital Investment Program Status Reports, Transportation Action Plan (TAP) and other planning documents as necessary;
Support lead planner(s) in preparing reports or documents such as the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization’s (CRTPO) Metropolitan Transportation Plans (MTPs), Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) and other planning documents as necessary;
Work with transportation program managers, such as Bicycle, Sidewalk & Pedestrian Safety, and Vision Zero, to identify, prioritize and implement projects that achieve the City’s transportation goals; Develop and conduct, as necessary, the data-driven prioritization of major roadway and intersection projects; Develop and conduct, as necessary, public involvement processes related to the development of transportation plans or other policies/plans; $66,173

Job Candidate Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in transportation or urban planning, traffic engineering, geography, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential job duties; Experience in transportation or land use planning in either the public or private sector; Advanced degree from accredited university; Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and general graphic design skills strongly desirable for the preparation of plans, reports, posters, and other visual communications as necessary; Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, with knowledge of other ESRI products such as ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro desirable for the creation of maps and management of geographic databases;
